چکیده

We study the semantics of disjunctive logic programs that simultaneously contain multiple kinds of default negations. We introduce operators not G , not W , and not STB in the language of logic programs to represent the Generalized Closed World Assumption, the Weak Generalized Closed World Assumption, and the stable negation, respectively. The notion of stratiication involving diierent kinds of negations is deened and the meaning of stratiied programs with multiple negations is described. The class of stratiied programs is extended to the class of quasi-stratiied programs and the semantics of the latest class is studied.

Normative Systems Represented as Hybrid Knowledge Bases

Normative systems have been advocated as an effective tool to regulate interaction in multi-agent systems. Logic programming rules intuitively correspond to conditional norms, and their semantics is based on the closed world assumption, which allows default negation, often used in norms. However, there are cases where the closed world assumption is clearly not adequate, and others that require ...

Stable Model Theory for Extended RDF Ontologies

Ontologies and automated reasoning are the building blocks of the Semantic Web initiative. Derivation rules can be included in an ontology to define derived concepts based on base concepts. For example, rules allow to define the extension of a class or property based on a complex relation between the extensions of the same or other classes and properties. On the other hand, the inclusion of neg...

A Formal Theory for Modular ERDF Ontologies

The success of the Semantic Web is impossible without any form of modularity, encapsulation, and access control. In an earlier paper, we extended RDF graphs with weak and strong negation, as well as derivation rules. The ERDF #n-stable model semantics of the extended RDF framework (ERDF) is defined, extending RDF(S) semantics. In this paper, we propose a framework for modular ERDF ontologies, c...

Complexity of the Stable Model Semantics for Queries on Incomplete Databases

We study the complexity of consistency checking and query answering on incomplete databases for languages ranging from non-recursive Datalog to disjunctive Datalog with negation under the stable model semantics. We consider both possible and certain answers and both closedand open-world interpretation of C-databases with and without conditions. By reduction to stable models of logic programs we...
